Integrate Aircall and add a call step

Choose the right timing and use phone calls to reach out to your prospects

Updated yesterday

Learning objective

By the end of this tutorial, you’ll know how to add a Call step to a lemlist sequence, where those call tasks appear, and how to place calls from the Tasks section using the Aircall integration.

Why this matters

Adding phone calls to your sequence creates an extra touchpoint at the right moment (after an email or LinkedIn step), which can improve connection rates and help you qualify prospects faster. Using Tasks keeps your team aligned so leads don’t get stuck waiting for a manual action.

Prerequisites

  • You already have a campaign/sequence you can edit in lemlist.

  • If you want to call from داخل lemlist via Aircall: you need an Aircall account with at least 3 seats.

Core lesson — Step-by-step workflow

Phase 1: Add a Call step to your sequence

  1. Add the Call step: In the sequence builder, click the + under the step where you want to add a new action, then select Call. This creates a manual execution step that will generate a call task when the lead reaches it.

Phase 2: Find call tasks in Tasks

  1. Open Calls tasks: Go to Tasks, open the Calls tab, then select the call task you want to work on.

Phase 3: Place the call, log the outcome, and move the lead forward

  1. Start the call: In the call task panel, click Call to place the call (Aircall will open in a pop-up if connected).

  1. Log what happened: After the call, set the appropriate Call status and add any relevant Call notes. This keeps reporting accurate and helps teammates understand the context if they pick up the next touch.

  1. Update the lead’s outcome in the campaign: If the prospect is clearly Interested or Not interested, open the lead’s Campaigns view and use the corresponding action (e.g., the heart options) to reflect the outcome so the sequence behaves correctly (for example, stopping the sequence for that prospect when appropriate).

Practical application / real-life example

A common pattern is to place a call after an email touchpoint. For example: Email → wait 1–2 days → Call → follow-up Email referencing the attempt (“I tried to reach you…”) if there was no answer. This keeps the conversation moving without losing momentum.

Troubleshooting & pitfalls

Issue: I don’t see any call tasks.

  • Root cause: The lead hasn’t reached the Call step yet, or the step wasn’t added to the sequence.

  • Fix: Confirm the Call step exists in your sequence, then check that leads are progressing and reaching that step.

Issue: I can’t call from lemlist with Aircall.

  • Root cause: Aircall plan doesn’t meet requirements (minimum 3 seats) or the integration isn’t available for your setup.

  • Fix: Verify your Aircall account has at least 3 seats, then try again from the call task by clicking Call.
